With this delicate subject, we needed to ensure that our solution sensitively reflected Catherine’s empathy and understanding of the different situations a child might find themselves in; using an approachable creativity to illustrate the support Catherine can give a child and their guardian.

Our concept grew from the well-known phrase ‘the elephant in the room’. This represents the abstract nature of emotions that can be difficult to express, whilst also giving us the opportunity to create a welcoming, friendly and expressive character to base our solution around. One that can talk to children and their guardians alike.

Combined with a calm aesthetic and tone of voice, our identity has a sense of judgement free playfulness, that reflects Catherine’s understanding of a child’s way of viewing the world, helping everyone involved feel like they are in a safe pair of hands.
